In this case, it's this blog. While I had originally started this blog to have a place to show off my crochet creations, I thinks it might have become a bit more than that.

You see, I seem to be an 'almost' girl. That is that I always 'almost' manage to do something. I 'almost' manage to learn belly dancing, I 'almost' manage to complete an Open University module, I 'almost' start singing again.

The reason is, I have a chronic illness, there is so much I want to do in life (see above for examples), but the moment I try to do one of the things that I dream of; the fibro kicks in and puts a stop to it.

IT'S SOOOO FRUSTRATING! !!

But whilst I find it all incredibly frustrating, I have decided to focus instead on the small achievements, e.g. managing to hoover the house from top to bottom without stopping, managing to scrub the kitchen or bathroom, putting the washing away in one go.

I know these achievements may sound trivial, but when you live with a chronic illness, this list is majorly important as it means that I get to live in the real world for a while before the fatigue and pain causes me to curl up again.

Then there are the joyful achievements, being able to go see my boy play football, see my niece and nephew and be able to act likevthe daft, aunt that they love me to be. Or when you get to spent a few hours with a friend you have only ever spoken to online before, and you get to see the real person and to embrace the joy you feel at finally being able to physically spend a few hours in their company rather than chat through social media or a recorded message on whatsapp.

So, instead of this being a post that is all 'woe is me' it has allowed me to work out for myself that, life isn't about the huge achievements, but it's about the simple things that make me truly happy . So, if that means that I have to forgo a couple of major achievements in life to be truly happy with what I am grateful to accept, then so be it, and I think that it has made me a better person.

Just musing, but happy!!

Our Local Neo Natal unit are crying out for preemie clothing for their unit. I have not been knitting for very long and this is my first attempt at following a pattern. I just hope that they can use it.
I landed up having to buy a new phone in the end, my other phone completely broke. The camera is not so good but at least lets me share my projects with you again x
Larunnonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15556976200688609564noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-144912622367112246.post-46576588147597174572012-01-23T23:33:00.000-08:002012-01-23T23:33:30.176-08:00uuuurgh

David and I both have the cold, the poor soul was starting at a new office yesterday, and had rotten time as he was feeling so ill.
Thanks to the flu jab and I slightly better and can function a bit better than him, but reckon as the day goes on, I will just land up in a ball thanks to the good old Fibromyalgia!!!

Not had the energy to knit or to crochet over the last few days, but hopefully will have some energy back soon and we will back to our usual programming soon (with a working camera!!)

Love and Hugs
Well, even though I can't post any pics at the moment, I can at least report my progress.

In Knitting, I have mastered Mitred Squares, which I am rather proud of, have been knitting them in strips and stitching them together as part of a Dolls Pram set for a friend's daughter, need to do a pillow to go with them and we are sorted.

The Granny Squares are coming along as well, I have been practicing lots of different types of squares have been doing them in DK so some have not turned out quite right as I have not done them with the right wool, but at least I have got the method for doing them, and they will be displayed on my Doddie blanket with pride!!!!

Larunnonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15556976200688609564noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-144912622367112246.post-78367831778509036962012-01-17T11:06:00.000-08:002012-01-17T11:07:09.800-08:00Not good!!!!!!

My Camera phone has broken so no pics until I get a new one shortly, also my digital camera charger has disappeared so no access to any pics for the moment.

Which is rather annoying as I have done brilliantly on my Doddie Blanket and I have mastered Mitred Squares in the old knitting!

Shall just need to wait until the middle of February before I can start to share again....unless I find my charger!
Larunnonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15556976200688609564noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-144912622367112246.post-8073451555886506202012-01-11T13:01:00.000-08:002012-01-11T13:02:46.979-08:00More compeleted projects!
